This was an evening of artists on the Touch record label, in the area of ambient electronic music and hauntology - Philip Jeck, Yann Novak, Simon Scott. All the photos that are fit to publish here.
It was great. Philip Jeck’s music was gorgeous. Odd church-hall type of venue, hidden in a backland near Waterloo station. About 50 people.
I don’t think the cat stayed. We were expecting it to sit on Jeck’s equipment. It may have been someone’s familiar, there were one or two who looked magickal. One had hugely baggy black trousers, which finished a foot from the ground.
The issue with cats at events is that they sit on keyboards and tread on pedals and switches. Dogs bark at latecomers and play ‘killing the rat’ with cables.
A couple of people bring their dogs to Grace. They are very different (the dogs I mean) but they get on. We have to keep them away from floor based installations especially things like ash and food. No-one has ever brought a cat.
